Ashland Church Community Emergency Shelter Services (ACCESS) works closely with other agencies such as the Mental Health Board, Kroc Center (Salvation Army), Safe Haven, Appleseed Community Mental Health Center, Ashland Associated Charities, and ACCADA (Ashland County for Alcohol and Drug Abuse).
On referral from these agencies, ACCESS provides a 90-day program of free housing, meals, transportation, and mentoring to help women and families who have fallen on hard times get back on their feet. To stay in the program, guests must work daily to improve their job status and look for stable housing. After 90 days, if they are trying but unable to find affordable housing, ACCESS also offers subsidized transitional housing they can use while still receiving mentoring and support. Our goal is to make them self-sufficient again.
