  • BWC's Division of Safety & Hygiene BWC's Division of Safety & Hygiene

BWC’s Division of Safety & Hygiene provides a variety of programs, services, and resources to help Ohio employers create a safe and healthy workplace. Its mission is to maintain a healthy, productive, and competitive workforce in Ohio by helping employers prevent occupational accidents, injuries, and illnesses. Businesses that have safety and wellness built into their workplace cultures can reap many benefits, including fewer accidents, lower workers’ compensation costs, and more productive employees.

Toward that end, the Division offers a host of services, resources, and educational programs. There are safety programs that offer premium rebates and safety grants that provide financial assistance to improve workplace safety and health. In addition to safety, ergonomics, and industrial hygiene consulting services, the Division also offers the OSHA On-Site Consultation Program which provides consultative compliance services to small employers in high-hazard industries. These are in addition to the various courses, online training, and safety publications made available to employers. These resources are available to employers at no charge because the costs are covered by the workers’ compensation premiums. A listing of the full range of employer compliance assistance resources can be found at the Division’s site.
